Job Tittle: SENIOR WELL ENGINEER (DESIGN & OPERATIONS)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for well engineering and operations support for one or more rigs including preparing Well Proposals, Basis of Designs, Well Programs (Drilling, Completion, Workover), AFE’s and End of Well Reports. Supervises and mentors FET’s and junior engineers. Attends critical operations at the wellsite as necessary.
Performs offset well analysis.
Prepares the Well Proposal and Basis of Design and follows the execution of programs technically.
Performs casing and tubing design including using TDAS software.
Prepares Well Programs and timely End-of-Well reports.
Prepares well operations procedures e.g. Casing running and cementing.
Prepares well time estimates and AFE’s in Osprey RISK.
Prepares project well control briefing.
Participates in selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment.
Ensures proper communication with relevant parties (client, segments, third parties, etc).
Participates in cost control of programs Vs AFE by analyzing solutions.
Reviews new technology for possible application to project.
Uses In Touch for best practices, lessons learned and technical alerts.
JOB QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must be eligible to work in Nigeria without visa sponsorship (locals preferred).

Have extensive experience in Well Engineering, which must include:
In-depth knowledge of well design theory and practice.
Substantial supervisory experience in the field as well as in an office- based environment for planning and executing daily operations support.
A proven safety leadership record and familiarity with safety management.
Practical knowledge and application of drilling optimization (e.g. Deliver-the-Limit, etc.).
Strong knowledge of latest technology applications related to well and completion design.
Possess at least a higher education Diploma (e.g. HND or equivalent), but preferably a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, in a technical or engineering subject.
Have previous experience of working in multi-disciplinary team environments.
Good knowledge of standard drilling engineering software such as WellPlan for Windows and Compass.
Excellent people skills and a high level of personal integrity, as well as a reputation for innovation, effective communication, and the ability to capture and cascade best practices.
